Red Umbrella Bespoke Mental Healthcare Ltd Testimonials

Bereco Group:

Challenge
Having fostered a strong relationship with this client for over a decade, Bereco is a premium window manufacturer with its headquarters and showroom located near Sheffield. Like others in the construction industry, Bereco’s staff face a range of challenges. The company initially approached Red Umbrella with specific concerns about staff well-being, which also underscored the need for targeted management training.

Solution
Red Umbrella responded swiftly to Bereco's concerns. Leveraging the resources of our sister company, Carecoins, we provided immediate support to address the individual needs of affected staff. Simultaneously, we delivered bespoke training to empower Bereco's management team, building their confidence to handle sensitive issues effectively.

What The Client Said
"The health and wellbeing of all members of my staff for me is crucial to the success of our business and I realised very quickly that I was ill-equipped to offer the help and support that was needed when a key member of my management team began to show signs of being affected by mental illness.

"As a business we are well versed in dealing with short and long term illness; but mental illness is not the same as a short or long term illness but it is no less important and it quickly became apparent that I was, as an employer, unable to offer the support needed and that I too needed support in both recognising and supporting our employees.

"Immediately after contacting Red Umbrella, as a result of a recommendation, a phone consultation was scheduled for me to help guide me through the solutions they could offer. After an initial assessment being undertaken and recommendations made for support very quickly my employee was connected with a personal therapist for regular one to one sessions and treatment began. I was kept informed of my employees progress and my employee made a speedy return to work and after a light duties reintroduction of just 4 weeks was back and performing in his role successfully.

"I feel that in offering help and support to my employees through red umbrella not only is it the right thing to do as a responsible employer but the saving afforded on recruitment fees, training and development made commercial sense too. Just the fact we are involved with Red Umbrella shows as a business we care about our staff and their health and wellbeing which increases morale knowing they are supported and in turn, staff increases staff retention. This and their friendly, professional and confidential approach is why we will continue to work with them for both personal support when required for my employees but also on management training and awareness.

"I would recommend Red Umbrella to any business large or small."

The London Ritz:

Background
Hospitality has statistically higher levels of mental health issues than the average, due to its fast-paced and customer-facing nature, which can be draining for those struggling with mental health. Staff at the luxury high-end establishment is expected to uphold the highest standards of customer service, an additional strain which can take its toll. The London Ritz wanted to provide as much mental health support as possible for its employees to equip them with the knowledge and training needed to feel safe and comfortable in their roles.

Solution
Red Umbrella was initially approached by The London Ritz to provide Mental Health First Aid training, recognising the importance of having mental health first aiders throughout the organisation. Following the initial MHFA training, the business also purchased Carecoins to provide counselling and therapy sessions for staff in need, adding an extra level of support. The anonymous nature of the service helped employees feel comfortable in coming forward to seek help when needed.

Red Umbrella also completed specific line manager training for its staff, helping them feel qualified to support their teams through what has been a significant period of change for the organisation. We also carried out suicide awareness training for some of its mental health first aiders, so they could be better equipped to support colleagues. Suicide levels are higher in hospitality than the national average, making this additional training important for the organisation. Additionally, Red Umbrella completed a neurodiversity awareness training course to allow line managers and HR staff to build up their knowledge and understanding of the topic to better support employees who are neurodiverse. Further, we completed a stress awareness training day for line managers to highlight the steps they can take to proactively prevent stress in the workplace and provide support to anyone struggling.

Results
Red Umbrella helped the business identify key areas where additional support was required as well as potential risks, and then put relevant training in place to mitigate those risks and empower employees. The London Ritz now goes above and beyond to not only provide the basics of Mental Health First Aid training, but also to offer staff a wealth of additional mental wellbeing resources.
